My husband and I both work full time, and not being able to see family and friends whilst having two small children, and wanting to make Christmas 2020 the best we could was something we prayed for.

We got through Christmas but New Years Eve was not exactly a happy one. Daddy was tucked up in bed whilst mummy and the kiddies simply had a Happy meal. COVID had struck! Inevitably, we all caught it, no matter how hard we tried! Lying in         bed to recover is not an option with two young children, and the guilt you feel when you’re poorly, hearing your children shouting for mummy is awful.

The isolation period didn’t seem to hit us that hard. When you’re ill, the last thing you want to do is go out and the children were so patient with us. However, our cupboards were bare but those around us kindly and loving brought us supplies.

Being self sufficient is something my husband and I pride ourselves on but during this time we had to let others in and be that support network we needed. From dropping shopping or food off to praying for us. Being part of a Christian family was really the only medicine we needed.
